I am to a photographer. Amateur photographer, but still a professional photographer. I am in need of models, because I need practice. I'd prefer woman, because I based my pictures off of men's interest magazines, but I'll shoot dudes. However, When I propose the idea of modeling, I'm always assumed to be perverted. Even with the business card, and a website, with a decent variety of pictures, I am still assumed to be a perv bucket. Fair enough, nobody can be trusted, but geez. All my information is available, and woman still fear me. Why??? Because Lame niggaz, who have no swag, use photography as a means of luring woman in nto sexual situations, were they can maybe force the woman to do sexual acts.
That not only tarnishes the photographer name, but it makes it difficult for up and coming photographer's to find female models to work alongside, and it also makes some of the finest "girls next door" more unwilling to take photo's shoots with a small timer like myself. Only way they'll wanna do it is if King magazine came and asked them in person (Not gonna happen). Just like every other occupation. Modeling and photography has to be built on a come up. You can't just get big time in one shot, unless your really lucky. Melyssa Ford didn't just hop in on Blackmen's Magazine on a whim. It was a lot of small shoots and a couple of vids that allowed her to network, and build relations with more professional photographers and directors. I'm not gonna ramble on, the thing is ladies, the next time somebody proposes to you an idea on photography, please dont shun him into the pervert realm. Take your time, visit his website, ask for references, talk to him on the phone and feel him out. If all that fails, ask if you can be occompanied on the first few shoots. if he says no, he has an agenda, if not, he's real. And Never, do sensual shots on the first shoot. Take the time in normal clothes and build the confidence within yourself, and the trust in your photographer. The more your comfortable, the better the shots, feel me!!
